Enhancing User Experience for complex onboarding processes in personal trading and banking accounts at Société Générale

In this ambitious project with Société Générale, my role as the Lead UX Designer was pivotal in transforming the user onboarding experience for personal trading and banking accounts. Over the course of a year, I collaborated closely with the bank’s digital, legal, and product teams to reimagine and streamline the onboarding process.

Responsibilities:

  • UX Strategy & Design Decision Support: My primary responsibility was to guide and support crucial UX decisions. This involved analyzing existing workflows, identifying pain points, and proposing design solutions that would enhance efficiency and user-friendliness for the end customers.
  • Interface Design & Prototyping: Utilizing Figma, I designed all the interface screens, ensuring that they were intuitive and aligned with the project’s objectives. Furthermore, I developed a fully functional prototype using ProtoPie. This prototype was not only a representation of the design but also a tool for testing and validating the new user flows.
  • User Testing & Feedback Integration: A significant part of the project was dedicated to user testing. I organized and supervised a focused session with a panel of 8 users in a testing facility. Throughout this session, I gathered invaluable feedback by observing user interactions with the prototype. This feedback was instrumental in refining the design and ensuring that it met the users’ needs and expectations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Working alongside the digital, legal, and product teams was crucial. It involved frequent discussions and negotiations to ensure that the design solutions adhered to legal standards and met the product team’s requirements, all while keeping user experience at the forefront.

Outcome: The project culminated in a redesigned onboarding process that was not only legally compliant and aligned with product goals but also significantly more efficient and user-friendly. The new design was well-received by the test users, reflecting its success in enhancing the overall user experience.
